Black Crowes preview

In my Black Crowes update last month, I mentioned the band’s current tour will be their last before taking an “indefinite hiatus”; I also mentioned “Croweology” – the double album of all-acoustic material due on August 3.

“Croweology” features acoustic renditions of 20 songs from the Crowes’ 20-year catalogue, including fan favorites “Jealous Again,” “She Talks To Angels,” “Remedy” and “Wiser Time.”

Well, it’s in stores tomorrow, but you can preview the full disc here.

As a companion to the Croweology release, The Black Crowes are rolling out “20 Years Of Tall Tales” – a web series featuring an extensive interview with Chris Robinson. Starting tomorrow and each day in August, the band will release a webisode per day via their website; Chris has never been one to hold things back, so this should prove to be a lively series.

To support the new release, the Crowes will play The Tonight Show Tuesday night (3) and Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday (4).

In other BC news, the band will also be featured this week on PBS’ “The Artists Den.” Recorded at the historic Lyric Theatre in Oxford, Mississippi, the hour-long concert includes interview clips and behind-the-scenes footage. Full local listings are available via The Artists Den homepage.
