Guns N' Roses UK update

Guns N’ Roses continue to try and play victim following the situation they created at the Reading Festival on Friday night (see here for details).

GNR started their headlining set an hour later than scheduled, causing the band to run out of time before the city curfew/deadline; the festival tried to accommodate fans, and the group, by extending their stage time from 11:30p to midnight, but it wasn’t enough for the band to complete their full show before the plug was pulled.

Today, Axl Rose has gone into “victim” mode, refusing to accept responsibility for his actions. “In regard to Reading,” Axl posted on Twitter, “we feel, at the very least, the fans deserve an apology from those responsible for the nonsense. We'd also like to thank the fans for being so great, singing along n' not tearing the place apart!!”

Logically, if GNR had hit the stage when they were scheduled to, the band would have had time to play their full set; if that happened, the only news story here is that GNR actually showed up on time.

So…if “the fans deserve an apology from those responsible for the nonsense,” when does Axl step up and apologize?

Once the power was cut at Reading, Axl used a megaphone to speak to the crowd, “We had problems with these promoters last time we played Leeds so, unfortunately, due to tonight, we will not be at Leeds.”

GNR are scheduled to headline the Leeds Festival tonight, and organizers expect the band to appear.

Today, Axl continued to try and shift the focus away from his own responsibility in the situation. In another twitter post, Rose said, “We r in constant talks to ensure the fans attending Leeds get what they paid for w/out undue bureaucratic interference. We thank you for your understanding. Peace!!”

“Undue bureaucratic interference?” Really?

Simple question: why not just show up on time, Axl?
