Slash slams Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler over American Idol

First, Kid Rock.

Now, Slash.

Brand Tyler takes it on the chin…again.

Both rockers have gone public with their thoughts on Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler’s decision to join American Idol as a judge.

In an interview with New York's Q104.3 FM, The Examiner reports Slash expressed sympathy for Tyler’s fans and Aerosmith bandmates, and disappointment in the charismatic frontman’s judgment.

"It's really sort of disappointing to me that he's gone and done that, for whatever reason,” says Slash. “A lot of it having to do with (the fact that) I just know the guy, and the other guys in the band are bummed out, and they've had a really rocky road for a while. And then just because ‘American Idol’ is what it is, so it's hard for me to put the thing together."

Last week, Kid Rock said he thought Tyler’s move was “the stupidest thing he's ever done in his life. He's a sacred American institution of rock and roll, and he just threw it all out the window — just stomped on it and set it on fire." (see “Kid Rock slams Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler over American Idol” here).

No word yet from Brand Tyler on either of the statements…stay tuned.
