Metallica: Big 4 show announced for Germany, more to come

Wasn’t it just this week that Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine suggested fans “pray” for more shows by Metal’s Big 4 – Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax?

Something worked, and pretty quickly, at that.

Metallica has posted the following update:

More shows coming up!

If you've been following along, you know that the Big 4 of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and 'Tallica already have two shows scheduled in Europe in July... well, the party is expanding!

We're here today to tell you about an addition to the European vacation with a show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany at the Veltins Arena on July 2, 2011.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, February 19 at 9:00 AM local time at www.eventim.de. MetClub members should check MetClub.com for more details on a special pre-sale for Clubbers only.

Yes, that headline said "shows" with an "s." Keep watching here for a couple more announcements in the coming weeks.

Beyond today's announcement, the Big 4 play April 23 in Indio, California, July 8 at Sonisphere U.K. and July 9 at Sonisphere France.
