Derek St. Holmes rejoins Ted Nugent

Awesome news for Ted Nugent fans: Derek St. Holmes has returned.

Longtime Ted fans will remember Holmes as the singer on Nugent’s first few solo projects: from 1975’s self-titled debut to the 1978 classic, “Double Live Gonzo!”

That’s Derek singing on Nuge classics like “Stranglehold,” “Stormtroopin’,” “Hey Baby,” and “Snakeskin Cowboys.”

After leaving Ted’s band, Derek recorded the Whitford/St. Holmes album with Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, before he would eventually rejoin Nugent for albums in both the 80s and 90s.

Ted made the announcement of Derek’s return via Twitter:

Holmes joins drummer "Wild" Mick Brown (ex-Dokken) and bassist Greg Smith (ex-Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult) in Ted’s current lineup.

Nugent recently announced a whole bunch of US dates that will take him through most of the summer; some warm-up dates get underway mid-April Texas before the tour launches in late June.
