VIDEO: Duff McKagan jams Guns N’ Roses classic with Avenged Sevenfold

Awards shows are often a great excuse to get some new pairings of artists and acts to pull off some one-time only jamming with each other.

This week’s third annual Revolver Golden God Awards was no exception, as there were at least a half-dozen special collaborations at L.A.’s Club Nokia on Wednesday.

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and Corey Taylor performed Judas Priest’s “Electric Eye” with Loaded; Sebastian Bach did Skid Row’s “Youth Gone Wild” with Asking Alexandria, and Scott Ian of Anthrax covered Dusty Springfield’s “I Only Want To Be With You” with Volbeat.

A blistering set from Avenged Sevenfold capped off the evening, and it featured two jams: one covering Pantera’s “Mouth for War” with Vinnie Paul, and another, hooking up with Duff McKagan for a version of Guns N’ Roses’ “It’s So Easy.”

Highlights from the Revolver Golden Gods Awards will be broadcast on VH1 Classic on Saturday, May 28.

Revolver will release a special Golden Gods issue of the magazine on May 24; the issue will include exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and interviews.
