Axl Rose was up to his tired old tricks in Liverpool Sunday night.
The singer forced his fans to wait 2 hours before Guns N’ Roses finally hit the stage at the city’s Echo Arena at 11pm, and the fans weren’t pleased.
The Liverpool Echo reports the 50-year-old was booed and jeered by the crowd when he eventually came on stage.
During the show’s second song, “Welcome To The Jungle,” the stage was pelted with a plastic pint of liquid, causing the singer to stop the show.
"If you wanna throw shit, we've got no problem going home," said Axl. "Otherwise we'd all love to have a good time tonight, right? So don't f it up for your friends here tonight. Thank you very much. Let's start the song over."
The all-too-familiar rude late start meant some fans couldn’t stay for the unnecessarily late evening, including disabled fan Mark Pettersen, 48, from Kirkby, had to leave after just two songs to get his train home.
"It was such a waste of time. I came out totally distressed," said Pettersen. “It was a complete joke and a total disgrace. Someone in the crowd threw something at him and I understand because people were so frustrated. If I could have got up on stage I would have ran him over in my mobility scooter, I was so upset.”
It turned out to be an eventful night for Axl, as he fell awkwardly while leaving the stage at the end of the show. Watch video of Axl’s fall here.
