VIDEO: Anthrax covers Black Sabbath classic for Dio tribute

A Ronnie James Dio tribute album is in the works for 2013.

Organized by Ronnie’s wife/manager Wendy Dio, the project will tentatively include contributions from Metallica, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan, Alice Cooper, Glenn Hughes, Sebastian Bach, Chris Jericho and Dave Grohl.

Anthrax are sharing some video of their work in the studio on the Sabbath classic “Neon Knights.”

Fans can check out drummer Charlie Benante laying down drum tracks for the tune.

“We recorded ‘Neon Knights’ for the new Ronnie James Dio Tribute CD. It came out pretty smoking,” guitarist Rob Caggiano told Guitar International last month.

Anthrax continue to tour in support of their latest album, “Worship Music.”

This week, the band plays Dallas (Tue), Houston (Wed), Tampa (Fri), Atlanta (Sat) and Noblesville, IN (Sun).
