Heart discuss Rock Hall induction

Heart were among the honorees announced Tuesday for induction into the 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Joining the Seattle rock legends are Rush, Public Enemy, Donna Summer, Randy Newman and Albert King.

Ann and Nancy Wilson discussed the Rock Hall honor in a new session with Rolling Stone.

"I wasn't quite sure this was real when I got the news," revealed Ann. "We've just had this long running joke about it for so many years. But I got the text while I was at the airport and it took a little while to sink in. We were just getting back from the Kennedy Center Honors [where they performed as part of a tribute to Led Zeppelin] and we were caught up in all that. Then I got the news. I went, "Holy shit! Really?"

Asked how the Rock Hall induction ranks with previous honors they’ve received, Ann says without hesitation, “Oh, my God, it's by far the biggest one. By far.”

“It's the sweetest of all things,” adds Nancy. “The band has been working hard and touring for the past 35 years without much stopping. It's really good to go, ‘Hey, someone noticed.’"

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast on HBO May 18th. Tickets go on sale to the public on January 25.

Ann and Nancy Wilson recently published their autobiography, “Kicking And Dreaming: A Story Of Heart, Soul And Rock & Roll,” and Heart released its new album, “Fanatic.”
