The Black Crowes end hiatus, announce 2013 tour

The Black Crowes have announced their return from the self-imposed “indefinite hiatus” the band took following their 20th Anniversary tour in 2010/11.

“Merry Crowesmas To All” was the headline on the band’s Facebook page as the group revealed a series of 2013 tour dates.

The Crowes launch a week-long UK tour on March 24 in Manchester before returning to North America for dates starting April 2 in Port Chester, NY.

On their 2010 "Say Goodbye To The Bad Guys" U.S. tour, The Black CrowesChris Robinson (vocals/guitar), Rich Robinson (guitar), Steve Gorman (drums), Sven Pipien (bass), Luther Dickinson (guitar) and Adam MacDougall (keyboards) — played two sets (one acoustic, one electric) most nights, varying songs each night with hits, deep album cuts, new music and select covers, illuminating their 20-year career of cosmic American music. At the Fillmore, the group also performed the Stones' "Midnight Rambler" plus — as the final song of the Fillmore run — "The Last Time".

The band’s musical contributions were saluted along the summer’s tour route when they were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame at the 32nd Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show.

In anticipation of the hiatus, the band recorded and released "Croweology" - their first-ever double acoustic album, which featured new arrangements of their best-loved songs and the band's catalogue picks.
