The Scorpions recently had a surprise visit in the studio from former member Michael Schenker, and the band is sharing a photo of the meeting.

Schenker dropped by to see his brother Rudolf, singer Klaus Meine and producer Mikael Nord Andersson.

The guitarist was a member of The Scorpions from 1970-73, before joining UFO and eventually going solo.

The Scorpions are gearing up for the November 29th release of “MTV Unplugged - Scorpions Live In Athens.”

Last month, the band performed three MTV Unplugged concerts in Athens, Greece at the city’s Lycabettus Theatre.

“When we were approached with the idea of playing an unplugged show, we immediately thought of Greece,” says Meine. “We played here many years ago. It is a beautiful place. I can remember that even back then the fans climbed onto the surrounding rocks. Of course we played some of the greatest classics this time, but we also performed a few new songs as well as material that we had never played live up to then. Those are songs which are very popular with the fans but which somehow never made it onto the set lists.”

“We have fabulous fans all over the world,” adds guitarist Matthias Jabs, “but the Greeks are absolute die-hard fans.”

“MTV Unplugged - Scorpions Live In Athens” will be available on CD, DVD and Blu-ray disc.
