Ted Nugent announces new album and tour

Ted Nugent will release a new album, “Shutup & Jam!”, later this year, and will preview songs from the record on a newly-announced summer tour of the same name.

The trek, which starts July 3 in Wichita Falls, Texas, will see Nugent joined by Derek St. Holmes on vocals and rhythm guitar, bassist Greg Smith and drummer Mick Brown.

“Though we can all agree that music is the ultimate communication, killer rock-n-roll is also the ultimate soul cleansing distraction from everyday life,” says Nugent. “I predict the most fun tour of our lives. Politics be damned! Shutup & Jam!”

Ted made headlines in Texas recently when the town of Longview decided to pay him not to play their 4th of July concert following the controversy surrounding the rocker’s appearance with Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott.

The town paid Nugent $16,000 – half of his performance fee – not to appear at the event, as originally contracted, saying he was "not the right feel for this kind of community event."
