Billy Idol to deliver keynote address at CBGB Music Festival

Billy Idol will deliver the keynote address at this year's CBGB Music Festival, part of the CBGB Music & Film Festival Conference next month in New York City.

Idol will be on hand for the October 9th event, where he’ll be interviewed on stage about his forthcoming autobiography, “Dancing With Myself”, and his forthcoming new album, “Kings & Queens Of The Underground.”

The rocker will be joined onstage for a few songs by longtime guitarist and collaborator Steve Stevens.

The 2014 CBGB Music & Film Festival Conference is set to take place October 8-12 in New York.

An abbreviation for "Country, BlueGrass, and Blues", CBGB holds a very important place in rock 'n' roll history when it began its auspicious origin as a music club on The Bowery in NYC's East Village. Founded by the late Hilly Kristal in 1973, CBGB became a hotbed for American punk and new music with bands like the Ramones, B-52s, Talking Heads, Television, Blondie, and The Dead Boys.

Idol will publish his self-written memoir, "Dancing With Myself", on October 7, and his first new album in almost a decade, “Kings & Queens Of The Undergound”, on October 21.

Billy recently released the project’s lead single, “Can’t Break Me Down.”
