Foo Fighters announce Brighton club show

The Foo Fighters will play Concorde 2 in Brighton on Wednesday as the first of three club shows in the UK this week ahead of their appearance on Sunday at London's Invictus Games' closing ceremony.

The band – who will appear as The Holy Shits – revealed the news via Twitter on Tuesday and reminded fans that there are more shows to follow.

“Brighton, see you guys tomorrow,” tweeted the group. “...2 more to come, UK...keep your eyes & ears open...”

The Foo Fighters will headline the closing concert of the Invictus Games in London this Sunday.

The September 14 event at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will see the Foos top a bill that includes Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, James Blunt and others.

The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women. Over 400 competitors from 14 nations will take part in this year’s games, which use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect of those who serve their country.

The event, which is championed by Prince Harry, will be a celebration of resilience and passion. The Games will shine a spotlight on Armed Forces personnel and veterans who have put their lives on the line for their country demonstrating how they and their families are valued, respected and supported.

“What a perfect way to finally return to the UK for the first time in years...been waaaay too long!,” posted the Foo Fighters when the show was announced. “Thanks for having us, it is truly an honor to come play for these incredible men and women. Can't wait to do our thing for you…”

The Foo Fighters will release their new album, “Sonic Highways”, on November 10.
