Queen announce expanded Bohemian Rhapsody biopic home release

Queen have announced plans to release an expanded home edition of their biopic, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Due January 22 on digital – and via 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on February 12 – the film stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury and follows the band from their creation in 1970 through to their legendary 1985 Live Aid appearance.

The project will present the biopic alongside – for the first time – the recreation of Queen’s complete 22-minute Live Aid performance not included in cinemas, featuring two never-before-seen songs: “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “We Will Rock You.”

In addition, on Blu-ray & Digital, fans will get a look behind the making of the film including interviews with Queen, the cast and creative team.

The lead single from Queen’s fourth album, 1975’s “A Night At The Opera”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was recently named the most-streamed Classic Rock song of all time.

The original track and official video have surpassed 1.6 billion streams globally across all major streaming services to also earn the title as the most-streamed song from the 20th century, taking top spot ahead of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O'Mine" and "November Rain", and a-ha's "Take On Me."

Queen and current singer Adam Lambert will launch a summer 2019 Rhapsody tour of North America in Vancouver, BC on July 10.
