Bret Michaels out of hospital

Bret Michaels is out of hospital, in stable condition and on his way to recovery at an undisclosed location following a brain hemorrhage on April 22.

Details on Bret’s status were released today during a press conference at
the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, where the Poison frontman was being treated.

Dr. Joseph Zabramski confirmed that doctors were unable to determine the cause of the bleeding from the brain stem, but that they have ruled out Michaels’ diabetes and his recent appendectomy as potential sources.

Bret no longer has signs of slurred speech, which he did for the first few days in hospital. Michaels is able to walk on his own, but continues to experience a great deal of back pain, including muscle spasms, when he does….the spasms then lead to more headaches.

Zabramski said he expects Bret to make a full recovery. It will be a while before Michaels is fully out of the woods: has been advised not to go back to work for at least 4-6 weeks, will receive physical therapy during that period and will need to be cleared by doctors before doing so.
