TONIGHT: Live Sammy Hagar birthday webcast from Cabo

Sammy Hagar celebrates his 63rd birthday today.

The Red Rocker continues the tradition of celebrating his birthday with a series of shows at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Some fun for fans who can’t be in Cabo today: you can watch some of the festivities live on Sammy’s website. A “Fan Cam” has been set up to stream video live from the club for four hours starting at 9:30 p.m. eastern (6:30 p.m. pacific).

If you wanna catch the start of Sammy’s show, you’ll wanna be online for the video feed at 9:30 p.m., when Hagar is scheduled to hit the stage.

“Give a shout out to a friend at home, make a face, flip someone the bird, we know your'll come up with something...... And smile, you are on the Cabo Fan Cam!” says Hagar. ”Show all the viewers back at home how we do it in Cabo.”

Info on the Fan Cam is here, but I’m not sure if it also serves as the link to the camera, so check around the site if you need to, come showtime.

Sammy Hagar – Mas Tequila (1999)

Some nasty news for Hagar at birthday time comes out of Fresno, California this week: Sammy and his business partners are being sued for $589 million dollars for the failure of the Cabo Wabo Cantina franchise in that city.

According to the Fresno Bee, developer Milt Barbis and two companies associated with the building of the franchise have filed a federal lawsuit that blames Hagar and others for the demise of the short-lived restaurant and nightclub.

"For whatever reason, somebody made a decision somehow somewhere that they didn't want that club in Fresno," said Southern California attorney Richard Hamlish, who is representing Barbis, as well as Fresno Rock Taco LLC and Zone Sports Center LLC. "Whether that was Sammy Hagar, or whom, I don't know." He added that "any attempts subsequently to operate the club have been stifled."
