John Paul Jones: “I may gate crash Foo Fighters gigs”

Ya know Dave Grohl is living a dream, right?

The Foo Fighters leader is a huge Led Zeppelin fan, so he was in heaven when he teamed up with Zep’s John Paul Jones to form Them Crooked Vultures.

These days, Grohl is back with the Foos, working on a new album for 2011, but Jones tells BBC6 that fans can expect a second Vultures record when schedules click for everyone involved.

Jones, Grohl and Josh Homme are planning to hook up soon to see what happens. “Some stuff we've worked on,” said Jones, “but we're gonna write pretty quickly and just put it down... we may be a year or so.”

"It will mainly be excess material from the first album,” he continued, “material we started and never finished because we had to go and play the stuff we already recorded!"

The Foos recently announced two UK gigs for next year – July 2 & 3, 2011 at the Milton Keynes Bowl, and there may be a surprise in store for fans.

"I might gate crash one of their gigs,” said Jones, “... if he asks!"
