Foo Fighters: Dave Grohl to appear in Muppets movie

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is set to make a cameo in the new Muppets film.

The NME reports Grohl will stand in for regular Muppets drummer Animal, while he attends anger management treatment, as part of the movie's plot.

Animal is a key part of the Muppets house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.

The new film, which is written by and stars How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, also features cameos from Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Lady Gaga.

This isn't Grohl's first film cameo. He appeared with Black in Tenacious D's 2006 film "The Pick Of Destiny," reprising the role of Satan that he'd played in the band's video for "Tribute."

Grohl is currently working on the new Foo Fighters album and has also contributed drums to a track on Michael Jackson's posthumous album "Michael," which was released this week.
