Former Oasis singer plays impromptu pub gig

Just imagine.

Your regular Friday night down at the pub, and former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher gets up and plays some tunes.

It happened quite by accident last Friday night at a Stockport, UK watering hole.

The BBC reports Gallagher dropped into the Town Bar in Heaton Moor after visiting his mother and dropping off his Christmas presents.

Liam reportedly chatted with regulars and posed for photographs before picking up a guitar offered by a fan who wanted it autographed.

To the crowd’s delight, Liam performed Oasis and John Lennon classics with Primal Scream bassist Mani.

"It was definitely a different evening," said regular Jamie Entwistle.

Entwistle had rushed to the bar after his girlfriend, who is a friend of its licensee, saw an entry on her friend's Facebook page saying the star had called in.

Jamie said that one young fan returned with a guitar after asking the star to autograph it; in return, Gallagher asked to play it.

Drinkers were treated to several numbers, including the John Lennon classic "Instant Karma."

Gallagher is in the process of launching his new band, Beady Eye, whose debut album, “Different Gear, Still Speeding,” is due February 28.
