American Idol: Steven Tyler tops hennemusic Hot 10

There’s no question that the launch of American Idol this week has raised Steven Tyler’s profile to new levels, as the Aerosmith frontman landed in the #1 position on the hennemusic Hot 10.

Idol’s TV ratings may be down from previous years, but Tyler’s involvement has put him front and center in the minds of rock fans. With a hectic media interview schedule, Steven has been very busy, and his comments on previous Idol judge Simon Cowell was the hot topic of the rock week.

Tyler’s story about turning down an offer to write and record with the remaining members of Led Zeppelin, following that band’s celebrated 2007 reunion, received plenty of attention, becoming the 3rd most-read item of the past week. hennemusic broke the story of Tyler’s comments on the Howard Stern radio show to the rock news community, and versions of it were carried by websites worldwide in the days that followed.

The HH10 is a list of the most-viewed rock news stories in the past week by hennemusic readers.
