Motley Crue: Vince Neil admits DUI was a mistake

Motley Crue’s Vince Neil is speaking up about his upcoming jail time.

"I made a mistake,” Neil tells People, “and I have to finally learn my lesson and go do a little bit of time."

"I've already learned my lesson,” he added.

Vince was dealt a soft sentence by Las Vegas authorities, who have given him 15 days in jail and 15 days house arrest, as part of his plea deal for his DUI arrest there last June.

The guilty plea helped Neil avoid a possible maximum sentence of six months in jail if he had been convicted at trial.

For some reason, Tess Driver, an assistant to the Clark County district attorney, feels that 15 days is enough for a repeat offender who had previously killed someone while drunk behind the wheel.

"He's getting a pretty solid sentence," Driver said.

Really?

Funny, I haven’t seen any references to Neil actually losing his license, or having it suspended, so it appears the Las Vegas authorities don’t take these matters very seriously.

Of his arrest, Neil said, "I just have to move on and get past it and get it behind me."
