Foo Fighters: covers album due on Record Store Day

I’m sure Dave Grohl knows what he’s doing; I mean, the guy has a pretty impressive track record.

With a new album, “Wasting Light” due on April 12, it appears that one record from the Foo Fighters in April just won’t cut it in 2011.

NME reports that, as a part of Record Store Day 2011, the Foos are releasing a covers album, “Medium Rare,” on vinyl in stores participating in the April 16 event.

Fans will get covers of songs the Foos have played through the years - including stuff from Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney and Wings, and Prince – as well as classics by Thin Lizzy, Gerry Rafferty and Cream, among others.
