VIDEO: First look at Foo Fighters’ new movie

The Foo Fighters are set to debut their new film, “Back And Forth,” this week at the SXSW Fest in Austin.

The feature documentary about the Foos is directed by Academy Award winner James Moll ("The Last Days," "Running The Sahara"). Moll 's documentary chronicles the entire history of the Foos, from the cassette demos Dave Grohl recorded during his tenure as Nirvana's drummer through their ascent to their Grammy-winning, multi-platinum, arena and stadium headlining status as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet.

This chronicling of the Foo Fighters’ triumphs and tragedies culminates in an in-depth behind the scenes perspective on the making of the new album, “Wasting Light”: a process in which the band pushed itself forward by returning to its roots and recording in Grohl 's garage completely on analog tape.

A week before the release of the new album, “Back And Forth” will be broadcast live to more than 80 theatres across the US on April 5; the event culminates with a live performance by the Foos, playing the new record front to back, just as they’ve been doing with their series of secret club shows.
