Van Halen mixing new album, says Slash

The Van Halen machine is in motion.

VH have reportedly been in the studio for some time working on a new album, the band’s first new music with David Lee Roth in 15 years. Roth reunited with Eddie and Alex Van Halen for a 2007/08 tour, along with new addition Wolfgang Van Halen on bass.

Expected to be released before year-end, the highly-anticipated record represents Van Halen’s first full album of new music since 1998.

In a new interview with Tom Russell of U.K.’s Rock Radio, an update on the status of the VH sessions was provided by, of all people, Slash.

“I’m a huge Van Halen fan,” says Slash. “They’re finishing [up their new album right now], actually. I don’t wanna speak on their behalf, but one of the guys that works for us works for Van Halen in the studio and he told me that they’re in the mixing stages.”
