VIDEO: Martin Short updates Elton John classic for Osama Bin Laden

You never know what you’re going to get when Martin Short appears on David Letterman’s show, and that’s absolutely a good thing.

Tuesday night, Short was on The Late Show to promote some upcoming concerts and, as always, he had a performance ready to go.

Inspired by the recent news regarding the demise of Osama Bin Laden, Short took a page from the Elton John songbook – “Candle In The Wind” – and turned it into a song about the al-Queda leader.

Appearing alongside singers dressed as Navy SEALS, “Bastard In The Sand” lampoons the international villain, including the chorus:

"It seems to me you lived your life like a bastard in the sand. Never knowing when the U.S. Navy SEALS would land."
