Shannon Tweed vs. Gene Simmons tops the hennemusic Hot 10

It appeared to be a crazy week in Gene Simmons’ world, as the KISS bassist’s alleged public battle with partner Shannon Tweed takes the top three spots on the hennemusic Hot 10.

Everyone’s wondering if the Tweed-Simmons issues are real or not, since they coincide with the launch of another season of their alleged reality series.

Coincidence ?

Very sad news in the Springsteen camp this week as sax man Clarence Clemons passed away Saturday evening following a massive stroke a week earlier. There were apparently signs of improvement in the days following two brain surgeries, but things took a turn for the worse later in the week.

2011 seems to be the year for rockers to get into Monopoly. The famous board game had just released a customized Metallica version and followed that up with an announcement about an AC/DC game due in August.

Rock fans are dying to hear the first new Van Halen album with David Lee Roth in 27 years, and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti reports he’s heard the music. Tremonti visited 5150 studios for a sneak preview as Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang VH played through their album live in the studio; Roth was notably absent from the proceedings.

A live mashup at the Hollywood Bowl between Motley Crue and soul singer Cee Lo Green rounded out the new items in the hennemusic Hot 10 this week.
