Slash begins work on second solo album next week

Good luck trying to keep up with Slash, as the guitarist just never seems to stop moving.

The guitar icon has a full slate of European dates next month, and he’s already working on something beyond the horizon: his next solo album.

“Going to start pre production w/Brent & Todd next week before the tour starts. Really looking forward to it,” Slash tweeted on Wednesday.

Drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns are members of Slash’s current touring band, so you can imagine the process of getting new material down on tape should run pretty smoothly.

On Slash’s debut, Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy sang two tracks, and earlier this spring Slash confirmed that Myles will sing everything on the guitarist's next solo effort.

"I'm touring around with a sort of mobile studio,” Slash told Triple M while touring Australia in March. “and we're working on material that I'm gonna do with Myles for the next record. And I'm looking at, probably... It'll be early next year."

Slash continues to work on new stuff, tweeting this week about having a breakthrough with a work-in-progress:

“Been working on the same song since this weekend. Finally, light at the end. *Itdoesntalwayscomeeasy*,” adding, “Ah, but it was definitely worth the effort.”
