VIDEO: Lee Aaron plays Sweden Rock Festival

This past weekend, Canadian rocker Lee Aaron made a rare live appearance at the Sweden Rock Festival.

The show marked Aaron’s first performance in Sweden; she had the distinction of being the only Canadian act featured on the bill. As the biggest festival of its kind in Scandinavia, the 4-day event has grown in the last decade to a record attendance of 35,000.

Lee was part of the closing day lineup on Saturday, which also featured Ozzy Osbourne, Thin Lizzy, Black Label Society and Styx, among others.

Aaron made a name for herself in the 1980s with her album “Metal Queen,” and the handle stuck, despite her move from rock to jazz years later. It was an invitation by Heart to play at Thunder Bay, Ontario’s Rockfest in 2007 that brought her back to her rock roots.

Aaron makes her home in the Vancouver area with her husband and two children and performs a limited number of ‘live’ shows per year; she is currently working on a book of memoirs and a new album of original material.
