VIDEO: Metallica rock Halifax

Metallica renamed Halifax “Metallifax” during this month’s Rock The Hill concert, and the band delivered another high-energy show for metal-hungry fans in the region.

The show took place on Halifax’s Garrison Grounds on a wet Thursday evening, and while most fans had been standing in the rain and mud for hours, Metallica had plans of their own to shake things up – including the weather.

When the skies finally started clearing around 8pm, just before Metallica’s set, the band focused their energies for the evening in the pre-show huddle sidestage.

“The suns coming out,” yelled bassist Robert Trujillo; guitarist Kirk Hammett responded with “We’re gonna make it come out,” and Trujillo made the evening’s declaration: “We’re gonna kick its ass! We’re gonna create our own sun on stage.”

And with that…Metallica hit the stage for a rare east coast Canadian date.

The band have just released videos from the evening, including tuning room footage, the pre-show huddle, and the 1986 classic, “Welcome Home (Sanitarium).”
