U2 report false alarm on Bono health scare news

There appears to have been some bogus media stories over the weekend about a health scare for U2’s Bono.

Some media outlets had issued reports of Bono experiencing heart palpitations and spending a number of hours at the Princess Grace Memorial Hospital in Monaco, where he was allegedly advised by doctors to get plenty of rest, according to sources.

U2 have issued a statement saying there’s nothing to the news.

“Despite press stories to the contrary, Bono has not suffered a health scare," said the band. “Reports of him being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the south of France,” adding, “The sighting of Bono ‬at Princess Grace Hospital was due to a routine check up.”‬‬

The band recently completed their U2360° world tour with the final show happening July 30 in Moncton, New Brunswick - two years after opening up in Barcelona in June of 2009. The record-breaking tour played 110 concerts in 30 countries across 5 continents, taking in an estimated $700 million.
