VIDEO: Def Leppard discuss the effects of fame

Fame isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be: just ask those in the spotlight who try to live life outside of it, hounded by fans and paparazzi, and then..at the dangerous end of things, there’s the whole crazed-fan-turns-stalker issue that some celebrities have to deal with.

The basic theory about living a 'normal' existence for musicians off stage is largely based around how one carries themselves in public: if you carry a certain swagger, attitude, and lots of bodgyguards with you, you’re going to be dealt with very differently than someone who ‘blends in’ with the public…either through a low profile or, even, a disguise of some sort.

The topic of the fall-outs of fame, and its effects on high-profile rockers, is the subject of the latest episode in the month-long Def Leppard fan Q&A series.

Leppard are asked, “Has it been difficult keeping your personal lives to yourselves [and how has fame] affecte your relationships with your families, and each other?”

Singer Joe Elliott and guitarist Phil Collen share their insights into living in the limelight, and away from it.
