VIDEO: Jimmy Fallon as Jim Morrison of The Doors

Jimmy Fallon broke out the leather pants Friday night for a bang-on impersonation of Jim Morrison.

Fallon was in full-on Lizard King mode as he and a backing and of Doors impersonators did a psychedelic rendition of the "Reading Rainbow" theme song.

Hosted by LeVar Burton, Reading Rainbow was a children’s show on PBS that ran from 1993-2006; last year, Burton announced that an update version of the series was in the works.

Fallon expertly mixed lyrics from the PBS show’s them into a mixture of other children’s books, name-dropping “Goodnight Moon,” “Horton Hears A Who!” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” along the way.

“The Roots played the Reading Rainbow song live. The fake Doors were 3 writers play syncing,” tweeted Fallon after the show aired.

UPDATE: NBC has shut down the video, so we've replaced it with another youtube version.
