VIDEO: Michael Monroe – Trick Of The Wrist

Michael Monroe is having a solid week.

The Finnish rock veteran picked up Album Of The Year at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards in London Wednesday, for his 2011 release, “Sensory Overdrive.”

Classic Rock magazine readers voted Monroe’s disc ahead of latest albums by the Foo Fighters, Motörhead, Whitesnake and others.

YLE Finland reports Monroe was on hand to accept the prize from former Guns n' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, who said that Monroe deserved the whole world's attention. GNRs members have often cited Monroe's old band, Hanoi Rocks, as being a major influence on them.

The same day Monroe was picking up his award in London, he released the latest video from the album, for the track, “Trick Of The Wrist.”

Monroe, whose real name is Matti Fagerholm, turns 50 next year. He recently published his autobiography and begins a nine-date British tour later this month in Wolverhampton.
