Jack White to compose score for The Lone Ranger film

Jack White is working for Disney.

Billboard reports White will compose the score for "The Lone Ranger," a new movie in the works starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as John Reid.

The studio announced Tuesday that the rocker will write, produce and perform the score for director Gore Verbinski's upcoming adaptation of the classic western.

"The Lone Ranger" will mark the former White Stripes frontman's first time scoring a feature film. He previously wrote and performed the theme song to the 2008 James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" with Alicia Keys.

“The Lone Ranger” will be released May 31, 2013.

White solo debut, “Blunderbuss,” hit stores this week.
