Red Hot Chili Peppers to release covers EP

To commemorate their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a digital-only EP, entitled “We Salute You,” on May 1.

The project features six songs from previous Hall of Fame inductees, all of whom have influenced the band musically: The Ramones, Iggy & The Stooges, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, and Dion and the Belmonts.

The track-listing for "We Salute You":

“A Teenager in Love” (Dion and the Belmonts)
“Havana Affair” (Ramones)
“Search & Destroy” (Iggy and the Stooges)
“Everybody Knows This is Nowhere” (Neil Young) [live]
“I Get Around” (The Beach Boys) [live]
“Suffragette City” (David Bowie) [live]

The Peppers rocked their Hall Of Fame induction with a four-song set, including the night’s finale, which also featured Slash, Ronnie Wood, George Clinton and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.

Fans can catch all the action when the 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony premieres on HBO on Saturday, May 5 (9:00-11:30 p.m. EST/PST).
