Motley Crue released “Sex,” their first new song in four years, just prior to the launch of their summer co-headlining tour with KISS a few weeks ago.
The track was written when the Crue were together during their residency in Las Vegas last February.
“We just cut that song to have a track out for the summer, for the tour,” drummer Tommy Lee tells Vevo.
Beyond the new single, Lee also talked about what’s next for the Crue.
“I think musically next for us is working on music for The Dirt, the movie or maybe another EP in the near future,” says the drummer. “I’m not really sure but right now we’ve got the KISS tour ahead of us and a new summer single and that’s kind of right now we’re focusing on, but I know the movie’s coming up shortly.”
“The Dirt” was the band’s 2001 best-selling autobiography that spent ten weeks in the top ten on The New York Times Best Seller list. The film adaptation of the book has spent years in the planning stages.
