Metallica update from guitarist Kirk Hammett

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett’s new book, “Too Much Horror Business,” was published on Monday.

Documenting Kirk’s love of all things horror, and the legendary collection of horror memorabilia he has amassed over the years, “Too Much Horror Business” is a 228 page, hardback, large format coffee table book featuring well over 300 full color images from Kirk’s private collection and exclusive set photography by Mark Leialoha and Joe Gibbs.

Hammett is doing a series of book-signing events to promote the new project, including a newly-announced stop in San Francisco.

Hammett sat down with Rolling Stone to chat about his book, and he also provided an update on Metallica’s current projects and plans.

“Right now, we're kind of preoccupied with dealing with this 3D movie that we shot up in Canada last month,” says Kirk. “So that's kind of taking our time right now – that's the priority, to deal with that. But once we're done with that, we're going to start hunkering down and putting riffs together [for a new album]. That's all going to happen soon. I really don't have an answer about [producer] Rick Rubin[‘s involvement], although his name certainly comes up.”
