Bassist Bill Wyman reunited with the Rolling Stones on stage in London on Sunday at the first of five fall arena shows marking the band’s 50th anniversary.
Wyman was a Stone for 30 years, serving from 1962 to 1992; he left the group following the 1989-90 Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tours. The Stones have continued to record and tour with bassist Daryl Jones since Bill’s departure.
Wyman joined the Stones at London’s 02 Arena for the main set’s two closing numbers, “It’s Only Rock N’ Roll” and “Honky Tonk Women.”
The bassist was not the only Stones mini-reunion on Sunday; guitarist Mick Taylor jammed on “Midnight Rambler.”
Other special guests included Jeff Beck and R&B superstar Mary J. Blige.
The Stones will play a second night at The O2 Arena London on Thursday, November 29 before heading across the Atlantic for three shows: New York’s Barclay Center on December 8, and the Prudential Center in Newark NJ on December 13 and 15.
The final show will be telecast live via pay-per-view at 9pm ET. The pay-per-view entitled “One More Shot” will be distributed by WWE.
