VIDEO: Soundgarden perform on Letterman

Soundgarden release their new album, “King Animal,” today.

To help launch the project, the band appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman Monday night.

Soundgarden performed their new single, “Been Away Too Long,” on the nightly show.

The group also rocked a Live On Letterman concert webcast from the Ed Sullivan Theatre that was carried live by hennemusic.

“King Animal” marks the reunited band’s first studio effort in 16 years.

Soundgarden will introduce the new music to fans via a series of intimate shows to launch the project.

The Seattle rockers will play Irving Plaza in New York City on November 13, the Phoenix Concert Theater in Toronto on November 16, and at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on November 27.
