Deep Purple: Ian Paice Nottinghamian Celebration Ale launched

A new beer named in honor of Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice has been launched in the UK.

From April to June, Nottingham, England-based Castle Rock Brewery is offering up the Ian Paice Nottinghamian Celebration Ale.

The drink is part of a series of beers designed to celebrate the city's and county's heroes, heroines, leaders and celebrities. Four ales a year will bear the name, and highlight the significance, of a famous son or daughter who was either born in the city or county or who adopted it as their home.

The Ian Paice Nottinghamian Celebration Ale is described as a "dark bitter with a slight 'smoke on the water' character."

More information is available at CastleRockBrewery.co.uk.

Paice and Deep Purple have just released “NOW What?!,” their first album in seven years.
