Motley Crue: Nikki Sixx sells stage-played basses on Canadian tour

Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx has launched a new campaign to sell his stage-played basses, beginning with the band’s current Canadian tour.

The Crue kicked off their Canadian trek a few weeks ago, and Sixx has already satisfied several collectors along the way.

“I’ve been having a blast touring Canada with Motley Crue,” Sixx posted on Thursday. “I've enclosed a few snaps from backstage with the collectors I met of my basses. It’s been a great experience on both sides...Thank you guys....Hope everybody is enjoy their spring, it’s cold a hell in Canada but the crowds keeping us warm.”

“I have been asked 1000's of times to sell my basses I play onstage but have never found a way to do it and feel that that special collector would be getting more than just the instrument,” Sixx announced last month. “Starting in Canada, I will be giving it a try to fulfill the years of fans requests.”

“I know if I could of had this chance to meet a Keith Richards or a Joe Perry and have them play my guitar onstage I bought and give it to me after words, I would've jumped at the chance,” he continued. “I think the thing that convinced me was the massive amount of emails I got about this and saying since you guy are gonna be doing a farewell tour soon, we will never get this chance again...”
