VIDEO: Metallica perform national anthem in San Francisco

Metallica were the featured guests at the first Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Friday.

Metallica kicked off the San Francisco Giants’ home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers by performing the National Anthem and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

As part of the festivities, fans were able to bid on one, or both, of the custom made Giants guitars played during the anthem by Metallica members James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett.

The Hetfield axe is a one-of-a-kind custom made ESP "Snakebite" Giants guitar, while Hammett’s is one-of-a-kind custom made ESP "KH2 Vintage" Giants guitar; both will be signed by all four Metallica members for the auction.

Proceeds from the auction will be split 50/50 between The Giants Community Fund and The Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.
