Following their appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego on July 19, Metallica have announced plans to perform a secret show in the city.
"The four of us will be in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center from 6:30-7:00 p.m. on Friday [July 19], along with many of the super talented team that is helping us create an unprecedented film experience,” confirmed the band. “Joining us to talk all things ‘Through The Never' will be the star of the film, Dane DeHaan, director/writer Nimród Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins as we proudly present the world premiere of the theatrical trailer along with an exclusive preview of footage from the movie followed by a discussion on the making of the film.”
“We can't just TALK about the film when we are in San Diego... we want to play too!,” said the band. “Following our chat in Hall H at Comic-Con, we'll be heading out to a super-secret spot to have some fun and hit the stage. Comic-Con attendees will have a chance to win tickets at the Hall H event and Met Club members should keep their eyes peeled here [band’s website] for more details about chances to win tickets too.”
"Through The Never" tells the story of a band crew member (played by DeHaan) who is sent out on a mission during Metallica's live set in front of a sold-out arena; while on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.
“Through the Never” will debut in IMAX theatres across North America for a one-week engagement starting Friday, September 27. The film will then expand into additional theatres on October 4.
