VIDEO: Motley Crue kick off second Las Vegas residency

Motley Crue kicked off their second Las Vegas residency, “An Intimate Evening In Hell”, at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel And Casino on Wednesday, and video of opening has surfaced.

The event was the first of an exclusive 12-show run from September 18 through October 6.

Crue pal Robin Leach at the Las Vegas Sun reports the show featured furious fireballs, exploding fireworks, thundering shells, a flaming pentagram symbol, a burning piano and a stuntman on fire.

Tommy Lee played drums inside a flaming pentagram circle; the capacity crowd at the Joint felt the full force of the flames all the way to the back of the concert hall and up on the second-level mezzanine.

“There’s more to come,” singer Vince Neil told Leach. “We had minor hiccups with some of the pyro tonight. Some misfired out of sequence. Some didn’t fire. It gets fixed on our day off and will be all perfect for this weekend’s shows.”

Since the Crue’s Vegas debut in 2012, Guns N’ Roses performed their “Appetite For Democracy” residency last fall, while Def Leppard played their “VIVA! Hysteria” series this spring.

Motley Crue will promote the latest Las Vegas run with their first reddit Ask Me Anything chat this Friday.

The band will be taking questions this Friday (September 20th) at 3PM EST/12PM PST; if you want to participate, check it out at reddit here.
