Foo Fighters recording new album

The Foo Fighters are in the studio recording their eighth album.

The band posted a photo on their social media sites of some master tapes from the project, along with the caption, “It’s F**cking ON.”

Last month, the Foos played three concerts – including a surprise show at Rock & Roll Pizza in Moorpark, California (video here) and
two dates in Mexico City – the first appearances by the group since Dave Grohl announced in October 2012 that the band were going on hiatus following an extensive world tour in support of 2011’s “Wasting Light” album.

The Foos will break from the studio sessions for a February 1st show in New York on Super Bowl Eve, where they’ll be joined by the Zac Brown Band as part of the festivities around the big game.

The Foos frontman recently collaborated with the group on their newest project, "The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1."
