Led Zeppelin bassist’s new band to release debut album



Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones teamed up with Norwegian musician Deathprod (aka Helge Sten) to form a new band called Minibus Pimps in 2011, and now the duo have announced plans to release their debut album.

Due March 3, “Cloud To Ground” features new material and songs that were culled from various live recordings.

The pair played made their public debut at the 2011 Punkt Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.

Using electronics, samplers, processors, instruments and ipads, the duo create ambient instrumental improvisations that will at times be ferocious and at other times intricate.

The duo got their name from a Beijing Sound Unit song that was featured on a Chinese experimental music compilation called "The Sonic Avant Garde."
