Sammy Hagar to headline benefit concert for drummer’s wife

Liza Cozad-Lauser and David Lauser

Sammy Hagar is headlining a benefit concert for Liza Cozad-Lauser, the wife of his longtime drummer David Lauser.

“Concert For Liza” is being held to raise awareness for Liza, who has been diagnosed with terminal brain stem cancer and needs FDA-approved access to a treatment that could save her life.

An experimental drug that has been shown in clinical trials to be safe and effective is available and the manufacturer is willing to provide it.

The FDA has a regulation called a Compassionate Use Exemption (CUE) for this situation, and they need to be convinced to allow Liza to proceed with the medication.

The Lausers are looking for support: fans can contact their Congressperson, sign a petition (here) and/or donate to help with their medical bills (here).

Full details on Liza’s situation can be found at concertforliza.org

“Concert For Liza” happens February 12 at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California.

Confirmed to join Hagar at the concert are Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Kenny Aronoff, Jack Blades, Billy Sheehan and other special guest to be announced.
