VIDEO: Metallica release live footage of The Lords Of Summer

Metallica have released official live footage of their new song, “The Lords Of Summer”, which saw its world premiere last weekend in Bogota, Columbia.

The clip comes on the heels of the band’s release of the garage demo of the tune (hear it here), and the full live show from Bogota.

Drummer Lars Ulrich recently told Rolling Stone that the song is “fairly representative of where our creative headspace is at right now. It's one of those things that's like, 'Here, we're writing and we're creating.'"

Metallica is expected to play the tune during their upcoming spring and summer concert dates, which feature a “Metallica By Request” format – which gives fans the ability to vote on 17 songs the group will perform alongside the new track.

The South American schedule runs to March 30, following which the band will bring its “request” show to Europe for dates beginning May 28 in Helsinki, Finland and to the Heavy Montreal festival in August.
