Joan Jett to join Nirvana for Rock Hall induction performance?

As rumors continue to swirl regarding the status of Nirvana’s unconfirmed performance at their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in New York on Thursday, the surviving band members have posted a photo of their gear that suggests Joan Jett may be involved.

An image of the band’s gear – including Jett’s easily-identifiable guitar – appeared Tuesday on the Facebook pages of both Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.

The status of a Nirvana performance at the Rock Hall event remains a tightly guarded secret.

The band will be inducted by R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe during the ceremony at New York’s Barclays Center; other honorees include KISS, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, and The E Street Band.

This past weekend marked the 20th anniversary of the passing of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The rocker died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Seattle home on April 5, 1994; his body was discovered three days later by an electrician who had arrived to do some work on the property.
